The Review:

Okay let’s begin reviewing this device. Like the other reviews I made, I will rate 1-10 for each highlights that will be mentioned below..

1. Quality and Design

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4544.jpg

The Quality for this device is great. Even though the device is thick, you can still hold it with just one hand because of it’s compactness..

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4493.jpg

The Design of the back cover is similar to the Nokia asha 503. And thanks to that design, the device looks really cool although, since its glossy, it quick magnets your fingerprints..

Its 8 out of 10 for the Quality and Design…

2. Display

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4492.jpg

The device features a 4 inch IPS display and has a resolution of 400X840 that gives you 233 pixels per inch.. The display is great. Its still bright even if the brightness is at its lowest point. 233 ppi gives you a clear view of your images and average size of the text of a website..

Its 9 out of 10 for the Display…

3. Software

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4545.jpg

I’m impressed with Windows Phone 8.1 because its fluid and easy to use..

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4506.jpg

The Office App is a great app included for this device.. You can create Word and Excel Documents, and Edit Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Documents..

Its 9 out of 10 for the software..

4. Hardware

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4505.jpg

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Quad-Core Processor in which has a clock speed of 1.2GHz and equipped with Adreno 302 GPU.. It has a 4GB of internal storage in which gives you a free space of almost 1.5GB.. It is partnered with 512MB of RAM.. Thanks to the Quad-Core Processor, and Windows Phone 8.1, the device can give you a decent user experience even if it only has 512MB of RAM… You can play casual Games on this device such as Candy Crush Saga, Temple Run, and Zombie Tsunami..

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4547.jpg

I tried to install Hungry Shark Evolution on it, but its graphics quality on the phone is not that good for me.. I’ll try to install Asphalt 8 on it to see if its quality is good…

Its 8 out of 10 for the Hardware..

5. Connectivity

The data connection for this device is great… Bluetooth works fine as well as Wi-Fi Connection..

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4504.jpg

The Dual SIM is a great value for this device…

Its 8 out of 10 for Connectivity..

6. Camera

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4546.jpg

The device packs a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash, unfortunately its fixed focus, but it still captures great photos. The Maximum quality for the video is up to only 480p @ 30 frames per second so don’t expect a high quality video output..

The device is also packed with a VGA front facing camera for video calls and selfies… Check out the photos below for the camera samples..

Sample Photo Using Rear Camera:

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4499-0.jpg

Sample Photo Using Front Camera:

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4498.jpg

Its 7 out of 10 for the Camera..

7. Battery

The battery is the greatest downside of the device because its only 1,500mAh.. I noticed that the battery quickly drains when you play 3D games or when you are surfing straight to the internet especially if you are using your data connection.. Based on my tests, the device can last for a day if you seldom use your Data or Wi-Fi Connection, and it can last for about 8 to 12 hours if you always play games or if you use your Data or Wi-Fi Connection..

Its 6 out of 10 for the Battery..

Final Verdict:

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/296/55892350/files/2014/12/img_4503.jpg

My Final Rating for this device is 8 out of 10.. Everything on the device is ok except for the Battery..

My Message for Cherry Mobile is still to keep up their good work, Now that they are getting stronger in their 5th year of excellence.. Thank You for making this Devices Affordable!

Well, that’s it for my review of the Cherry Mobile Alpha Style. See you again next time for another exciting unboxing and review.. Happy Holidays!
