The Review:

Okay let’s begin reviewing this device. Like the other reviews I made, I will rate 1-10 for each highlights that will be mentioned below..

1. Quality and Design

The quality is excellent. Its easy to hold in your hand although it’s a bit slippery due to its matte finish back cover.. button positions are very easy to access and they have the satisfying click.. Fingerprint sensor is very accurate..

As for the Design, it really feels like a premium device with the 2.5D Glass.. as for the back cover, again it is a Matte Finish back although it’s not the rubbery matte back from the previous Flare Devices like the Flare S100..

The positions of the Camera module, LED Flash and the Fingerprint Scanner kinda reminds me of the Desire R8. So for the Quality and Design its 9 out of 10

2. Display

This device features a 5.2 Inch HD IPS Display with a resolution of 720X1280. The display is excellent, with 282 ppi you can see the text clear, viewing angles are great.. the 2.5D Curve glass gives a premium feel on the device.. it has a 5 point multitouch BTW.. so it’s 9 out of 10 for the Display

3. Software

The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and comes with the company’s new CherryOS. So far the Software runs fine, but there is actually one part in this software that is kinda dealbreaker for this device, and that is the Default Launcher itself.

The reason why is because you cannot replace it to any other 3rd party launchers and shortcuts will always be added to your homescreen even though app drawer is available.. for me it is a terrible experience because you cannot remove it to your homescreen, the only way you can deal with it is to hide it inside a folder.

It is also unfair because from what I have heared is that you can change the Deafult launcher of its sibling which is the Flare S6 Selfie to any launcher you want.. I really hope that Cherry Mobile will address this issue on their next software update.. Its 5 out of 10 for the Software.

4. Hardware

This device is powered by a Mediatek MT6737T processor paired with Mali-T720MP GPU and 2GB of RAM.. The device runs fine with just a bit of lag..

Games like Minecraft, Mobile Legends are playable in this device..

This device come with 16GB of Internal Storage in which is good because the software takes only around 1.5GB of the entire storage.. Its 8 out of 10 for the Hardware.

5. Connectivity

NOTE: Connecting to the internet using Wi-Fi Connection or Mobile Data Connection depends on your network and location.

I tried connecting to the internet using both methods, and they are working great. LTE works great thanks to the 700MHz LTE band.. Its 9 out of 10 for the Connectivity..

6. Camera

This device has an 13 Megapixel Autofocus f/2.0 Rear Camera with an LED Flash and its photo quality is Good enough for daily use..

The Camera app is packed with a number of modes like Beauty Mode, FaceCute, Panorama, Time Lapse, and Pro Mode.. this device can record up to 1080p@30fps FullHD Videos.

The device also has a 13 Megapixel f/2.0 Front-facing Camera with LED Flash in which is good on Daylight Condition, and average on low-light condition.. Check out the samples below for the rear and front cameras..

Rear Camera:

Ortigas Center CBD (Night)
New Bocaue Toll Plaza
Christmas Tree at Robinsons Place Malolos
Nice Try 😂
Ortigas Center CBD (Day)
Sale at TriNoma
Christmas Exhibit at Meralco HQ
Bokeh Effect (First Test)
Bokeh Effect (Second Test)

Front Camera:

Its Perfect 10 for the Camera

7. Battery

The 2600mAh Removable Battery is enough for daily tasks, mild gaming and surfing the net.. it can last more than a day on my end and around 8-9 hours when directly using it for playing games and connecting to my social media apps..

Its 9 out of 10 for the Battery..

Final Verdict:

Overall, for P3,999 it is the best budget camera phone you can get for its pricepoint.. So i will rate it 8.5 out of 10

Premium Design
Excellent Display
Excellent Camera
Accurate Fingerprint Sensor

Cannot change Default Launcher
Cannot delete Shortcuts on Home Screen

  1. Plano ko sana bilin to ngayon. Okay po ba siya sa Mobile Legends? Di naman po ba siya nagcacrash or naglalag kahit good ping?

Sana may sagot po kayo. Salamat po. ☺

  2. Subok ko na tong phone na to. Ok sya pang gaming kahit download mo pa yung may 1.3 gb na game.kaya nya. Two thumbs up for the quality , and sa sa camera medyo laggy lang sa front pero outside ng bahay ok sya , sa low light area’s lang naman ndi masyadong ok. Pero ok sya budget phone. Sana nga ma update na sya sa android 8.0 oreo. Para mas maging updated about sa system.
